1-3-5 chord run

Today, I wanted to start at the basics of some of the runs that I like to pull out of my hat. It is basically playing the same 3 notes over and over, while pressing the damper pedal to make it flow together and sound like something bigger than it is. Whichever chord is being played, just play it in root position, starting with your left hand, then play it in your right hand, cross your left hand over the right, play it an octave above the right hand, then cross the right hand under the left, play the chord an octave above the left hand with your right hand, and repeat until you’ve gotten close to the end of the piano. You will have to work out the timing, but you will hear of what you are doing will work. Practice it slow, and keep doing it until you can pick up speed. You can do this move with any chord, and it gives a nice fuller sound to what you are playing, and is also a great way to end a song. Many times, you can add the 2 note of the chord (a whole step up from the root) to the chord to add a little difference to it. Try different things.
This is one of my main ‘tricks’ to add a little extra to a song. Hope it helps you.
